Section 4(1)(b)(i)- Particulars of Organisation functions and duties
OBJECTIVES:
The Department of Information and Public Relations functions to achieve its objectives and goals through dissemination and transmission of Information, Publicity and Public Relations. The Department operates its multimedia systems for effective publicity, performs a signal service in acting as bridge between sections of the people and the Government, and creates awareness among all sections of the people on Government Polices, Plans and programmers intended for welfare and development.
Dissemination of Information:-
The main objective of the department is basically two fold Viz., informing the Public of the policies and programmers of the Government on one hand and on the other keeping the Government informed of the people’s reaction to its policies and Programmers, communication is a most vital in process of Socio-Economic develop –meant.
This Department adopts different modes for dissemination of information and publicity activities.
FUNCTIONS:
- To Publlcise the activities of the Government through the mass media communication systems, the Department maintains liaison with press, AIR, Doordarshan, Films Division, Directorate of Audio Visual Publicity, Press Information Bureau, News Agencies, Private T.V. Channels, Department’s Electronic News Coverage as well as conducting of press Tours, Preparation and issuing of Advertisements, Organising of Exhibitions, Song and Drama Programmes, Photographic Services and Exhibitions, Maintaining Media information Monitoring System, Research and reference conducting Training.
- Winning social acceptance for new legislation’s enacted.
- Keeping the people informed about the policies, schemes and
Programmes of the Government.
- Eradicating social evils like untouchabillty, dowry, Jogini, bonded
labour, child labour, banamati etc.,
4(1)(b)(II)- the powers and duties of its Officers and employees.
- District Public Relations Officer/ADDL.PRO:
Over all supervision on staff members of field staff and work turned out by them and also drawing and disbursing Officer. Collection of feedback reports on Government activities policies and programmers. Issue press release to print and Electronic Media on official Programmes and developmental activities and coverage of VIP, VVIP Visits. The reports appeared in the News Papers pave way to formulate options on the policies, programmes and functioning of the Government collection of good success stories on welfare Schemes. Liaison with print and Electronic Media. Run of information centers and arranging photo exhibitions on different occasions. Submission of press Clippings to Dist. Collector on positive and adverse items for perusal.
- Asst. Public Relations Officer:
Collection of feedback reports on Government activities policies and progammes. Issue Press Release to Print and Electronic Media on Official Programmes and developmental activities and coverage of VIP,VVIP Visits.
The reports appeared in the News Papers pave way to formulate options on the policies, programmers and functioning of the Government collection of good success stories on welfare schemes. Liaison with print and Electronic media Assisting D.P.R.O. in Administration , Establishment and Corresponding maters.

Resonability of field publicity actives and taking Photo & Video Coverage and P.A. System.
- Typists:
To Prepare Pay Bills and Other Office Bills, To maintain fair copying, Maintenance of Furniture and Stationery and
Xerox, Computer, Fax and Printers operating of Computer , Xerox and Fax.
Total Press Note of Web Site in I&PR Dept., Daily and Email of photos and Press Notes of Daily in Small & Medium papers. To maintain of Inward, Outward and Office Records
- Office Sub.,
Asst. the Officer and ministerial Staff and Daily News Paper Clippings Cutting
4(1)(b)(III)- the procedure followed in the decision making process, including channels of supervision and accountability.
Every morning take the cutting of Adverse and positive News items appeared in various daily News Papers and submit to the Dist. Collector, Official meetings chaired by the Dist. Collector and Official Programmes covered and issue Press Release to print and Electronic Media. Facilitate the Print and Electronic Media in getting information
4(1)(b)(iv)- the norms set by it for discharge of its functions
The norms set by District Office manual are being followed for the discharge of functions.
- Release of press notes to press, intimations -Same day
about press conferences etc.,
- Release of classified Advertisements -3 to 5 days.
- Release of Display Advertisements -One day before
on important occasions the date of
Publication in
News Papers.
- Photo Exhibition on Important Occasions – One day before
the occasion .
- Issue of Rejoinders – Same day
- Distribution of Publicity Material – With in stipulated
Period.
- Photo Coverage – Same day.
