District Industries Centre-Peddapalli
The Industrial Policy 1977 contained the concept of District Industries Centre (DIC). DIC program was initiated on 1st May 1978 as a centrally sponsored scheme. It was a landmark measure in the development of cottage and small industries in smaller towns in India. DIC’s were started with a view to provide integrated administrative framework at the district level for industrial promotion. It is aimed at providing all assistance and support to entrepreneurs in various states. These centers are responsible for effective promotion of cottage and small-scale Industries at district level. These centers also provide support facilities, concessions and services to develop tiny, cottage and small-scale units.

Mineral Resources
Minerals such as Coal, Limestone, laterite, and other deposits of iron ore and Steatite are available in the district. Other major constituents are Granite of various colours and sand occurring in major parts of the district.

The Govt. of Telangana is facilitating entrepreneurs in getting all clearances for establishing an industry through an online Portal (TG-iPASS). The website is as follows https://ipass.telangana.gov.in. The applications will be directly routed to concerned departments online, and the clearance will also be issued online. Under online TS-iPASS, as on 25-Jul-2026, 728 enterprises were issued 1331 Clearances from various departments.

DEPARTMENT FACILITATES AND PROMOTES THE FOLLOWING:
1.TG-iPASS
The Telangana State Industrial Project Approval and Self-Certification System (TG-iPASS) was introduced under the TG-iPASS Act, 2014 (Act No.3 of 2014) to provide a transparent, time-bound and investor-friendly approval system for industries. Through the TG-iPASS portal, entrepreneurs can obtain statutory approvals and apply for Government incentive schemes. The DIC facilitates online applications, coordinates with departments, monitors approvals, and assists entrepreneurs throughout the approval process.
2.MSME Policy – 2024
The MSME Policy, 2024, notified vide G.O.Ms.No.16, dated 18.09.2024 and operationalized vide G.O. Ms.No.06, dated 23.03.2026, promotes establishment, expansion and modernization of MSMEs by providing various incentives. Eligible entrepreneurs should apply for incentives through the TG-iPASS portal within the prescribed time after commencement of commercial production. The DIC assists entrepreneurs in processing incentive claims.
3.Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP)
PMEGP is a Central Government self-employment scheme that provides financial assistance to establish new micro enterprises. The DIC creates awareness, scrutinizes applications, recommends eligible proposals, coordinates with banks, and monitors implementation of sanctioned projects.
4.Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme (PMIS)
PMIS aims to provide internship opportunities to youth in leading companies to improve employability and industry exposure. The DIC creates awareness, assists candidates in registration, coordinates with industries and educational institutions, monitors implementation, and submits progress reports.
5. PM Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME)
PMFME supports micro food processing units through credit-linked capital subsidy, seed capital assistance, skill development, technology upgradation and marketing support under the One District One Product (ODOP) approach. The DIC acts as the district implementing agency by identifying beneficiaries, facilitating bank linkage, coordinating with the District Resource Person (DRP), monitoring projects, and promoting ODOP activities.
6.Digital Employment Exchange of Telangana (DEET)
DEET is an online employment platform developed by the Government of Telangana to connect job seekers, employers and skill development institutions. The DIC mobilizes industries for registration, coordinates job fairs and placement drives, monitors placements, and submits progress reports.
