Survey and Land Department

History of Land Survey and Description:-

 

During the year 1875, this survey of the land was conducted under the control of the Revenue Department and reorganized in 1971. It is necessary to maintain the (a) Survey marks on ground (b) Tippon (Field measurement book) (c) Village plan and (d) Settlement Register up to date by effecting changes that occur day to day on account of acquisition, alienation, assignment, relinquishment, change of classification, etc., of land, for the following purposes.

  1. To protect the Government lands from encroachment.
  2. To settle boundary disputes between private lands
  3. To correctly assess Land Revenue and other taxes for each holding,
  4. To enable the ryots to establish their right over their holding in a court of law.

 

Head of the Department and its location:-

 

In Telangana, the survey department is headed by the Commissioner and Director, Survey Settlement and Land Records, TG., which is located in Narayanguda, Hyderabad.

 

Function of the Department:-

 

  1. To supervise, and streamline the Land Record system which has statutory powers under the Survey and Boundaries Act 1923 .
  2. The survey department takes care of the maintenance of Survey records and their updation. Under the provision of this Act 1923, the department took over the village records i.e., village maps, FMB’s (Field Measurement Books)
  3. Most of the available records were digitized, some records of villages are not available and available records are in bad condition. 
  4. The department provides certified copies of survey records i.e., Tippon, Village map, Shetwar, Supplementary shetwar & other subsidiary records on payment of the required fee to the government under the Head of Account

  • Correction of clerical errors as per circular instructions vide CCLA Rc. No. S1/ 1093 /2011(CSSLR), Dt. 18.05.2011 it needs correction U/S 87 AP (TA) LR Act, 1317 Fasli.

 

Land Survey Fee to be paid at Meeseva and Procedure of Survey of lands of an individual:-

 

  • At Present survey the private land, and the survey fee has to be paid through the “Meeseva” center selecting service F-Line petitions / Sub Division (Rs. 295/-) and Appeals on Demarcation (Rs. 1410/-).
  • The survey of land will be conducted by its surveyor who is available at the Mandal office. The land survey will be done according to Tippon to every field / Survey No.
  • Any person affected by a decision of the survey report, the person appeal to the higher officers, 1st appeal i.e., Deputy Inspector of Survey is available at the Division Office i.e., RDO (Revenue Divisional Office). And 2nd appeal to Inspector of Survey / Assistant Director is available at the District level.
